Corporate Partnerships

The Community Green Fund (CGF) was launched in January 2010, to allow socially conscious companies and individuals to sponsor clean energy projects located at nonprofits, schools, and charitable organizations. NGE created the Community Green Fund to ensure that the growing interest in going green has a positive, lasting impact on our local communities.

Partnering to Create Green Communities:

How does it work?

  • Community Green Partnerships

NGE selects a charity or nonprofit organization and completes an energy assessment
  • NGE and the charity implement green energy projects, including appliance upgrades, insulation and window replacements, and solar power generation
  • NGE actively publicizes the project through press releases and news articles
  • The partnership is capped by a ribbon-cutting event, celebrating a successful community clean energy project

Why is this important? Because charities are busy being … charities. They are focused on their mission, and are usually too small to have dedicated energy experts on hand. NGE brings green energy expertise that helps the charities maximize the economic and social benefits of a green upgrade.

Getting your Company Involved:

Unlike a one-time donation to the organization’s operating budget, a donation supporting efficiency upgrades and green energy pays dividends to the organization for decades. A $25,000 donation, for example, can create $100,000 or more in energy savings to the organization over 30 years.

Companies that work with the Community Green Fund can:

  • Increase their market share among environmentally conscious consumers
  • Enhance their reputation as green businesses
  • Boost employee morale
  • Make a positive impact on a local charity
  • Attract new customers
